Duke.

This has nothing to do with crafting, photography, or any kind of project [except that I took the photo while out in Daddy's shop while he worked on Georgie's cradle...does that count?], but I just love this dog. He has been around for a long time, and he is so sweet. All he wants in life is a ball in his mouth and for someone to pet his head.

Enjoying a visit with family and prepping for a weekend of photos and seeing old friends!

Be happy!

In need of two Mondays...

Never thought I would say that, but since Monday is my day off I feel like I need two of them to get all the extra things done! My to-do list seems like it is a mile long:

-Finish getting through Megan's wedding photos
-Lindsay's wedding photos
-Alina's photo book order
-switch out some fall and summer clothes
-Clean the bathroom
-Really clean the kitchen
-put away baby shower things from last weekend
-put the office/craft room back together
-Emily's large nursery painting
-Embroidery aprons for the bakery
-Casey's photo order
-Fill order for rosette earrings
-Photo collage for Megan
-Cook up some meals for the week
-Organize my calendar [in a big way]
-Iron a ton of shirts

That is all I can think of right this minute, but I'm sure the list will grow before shrinking. So...while I am working I leave you with this shot from Travis and Lindsay's wedding on Saturday:

Today I am knocking out the second wedding weekend of the month [I have one the next two Saturdays as well]. I have been so busy at work and running around that I have not accomplished anything at home since I got back from Arkansas...and I am going back down next weekend! I will do two sessions and a wedding while there, so projects may be put on hold for a bit while I get some of these photos edited and ordered. So until I can my craft room/office put back together and get going on some projects, here are some bridals of last weekend's bride and more baby shower photos.

I am so excited for Georgie to get here, and I just can't wait to get that call to head down. I hope it works out so I can be in Batesville before she makes her debut. Then we will have more sweet baby photos to take!

A party kind of weekend

It was a full weekend with lots of celebration! Saturday I shot the cutest wedding. The little church was so perfect, and Megan and Adam just looked great. Megan did a great job with the details of the wedding, and I wish them the very best!

Sneak peek:

Sunday I finally got to put all my plans together for my sister's baby shower!

[Thanks to Chels for the photo!]

It was definitely a success, and she loved it. She got lots of great stuff, and I think everyone had a great time. I will be going through more photos as soon as I get time.
Be happy!

Adorable family session

Yesterday I was lucky enough to get to photograph the most adorable family.

And this one is my very favorite!!!

I have been dying to use this bunting [that I pulled off my mantle at home] in a shoot, and I am so glad I did. I plan to use it for some photos of me and Nicholas soon. I have a great spot picked out...just have to find the time!

Be happy!

So far....

So far this trip I ate Mexican food with family, did an EARLY engagement session, visited with a friend, had lunch with my dad, killed some time, did a bridal session, went to a fish fry, made s'mores, snuggled a puppy, and had lunch with my mom. It has been a busy but fun trip so far. I am looking forward to a family session this afternoon that I have some cute ideas for. Tomorrow I am going to get started on some baking for the baby shower, and I am looking forward to that.

Here are a couple of shots from yesterday's engagement session. They were a very sweet couple and braved the unseasonably cold weather for our shoot.

Just when I think I am not doing enough sessions to even bother, I get bombarded with requests for sessions...even more than I can schedule right now! I am back to having a waiting list for my trips to Arkansas, and I am very excited about it. It has sometimes a struggle to juggle the sessions with my family time, but right now I am making it work with my frequent trips. I am thankful for that opportunity as well as Mary being so understanding when I leave the bakery for a week at at time.

I am blessed and optimistic about future endeavors...and practicing time management!

Be happy...and optimistic!

Heading on down

So I have never made a post without at least one photo, so I will share a poorly lit photo of one of my latest pieces. I never ever had been happy using acrylic, but I decided to give it a shot. Since then I have continued using different techniques with the acrylic, and we may be good friends this winter when I can't go outside to spray paint.

And I am heading to Arkansas for an engagement, bridal, family session, a wedding, and THE baby shower! I will have lots of photos to process when I get back, and I am super pumped!

Be happy...and pumped!

baby shower fun

So I never know where these things come from. I had no intention of working on straws and making baby paintings when I got home. I just have been feeling like I really need to get busy putting the final things together for the baby shower. At the same time I feel like there isn't much left for me to do, but I am afraid that I will get to Arkansas and feel like I have nothing. I keep looking over my lists, but I think most of it will just be gathering things before I leave. I plan to do a walk through and use a lot of the things from my house. I also have the glass bottles for drinks, mason jars, the accordion wheels, and now these:

I had already purchased the paper straws online, and I designed the flags in photoshop, printed, and attached them to the already adorable straws. The cans were just recycled cans from the kitchen, fabric and yarn scraps, and some hand drawn cardstock tags.

I also sat down to a blank canvas with no idea what I was going to do...and this is what happened!

[excuse the poor photo...night time=yucky lighting]

It will, of course, be a gift for Georgie and Mommy, but I can use it at the shower as well.

Be happy...

etsy, here i come!

I have been trying to get caught up on some photo things while trying to make a few minutes each day to work on some fun projects. It is sometimes hard to find a balance between the bakery, house cleaning, and projects. I finally got to put together these pieces that I cut out last week. Do I need 3 strands of Halloween-ish bunting? No, but I have them.

I am not one to do a lot of seasonal decorating, but I just can't get enough bunting in any form.

This is not the first version of this that I have made, but I sold the other one. The first version had brighter colors, but I think this one is my favorite. This one will probably find a home on my own couch, but I do plan on making more. If when my etsy store gets going I plan to add these to the mix.

Be happy...
